In addition to doing work documenting social media intimidation, hate speech and surveillance in the Gulf with Bahrain Watch, I am also a multidisplinary academic (and historian) at the University of Exeter in the UK. I mainly write about methods of political repression in the Gulf, with a specific interest in strategies of media control.
