Susan Abbott is an independent consultant who specializes in working with non-profit organizations, universities, and donors in the areas of media development, civil society assistance, and digital rights. Abbott provides consulting services in the areas of fundraising and grant writing; facilitating workshops and training programs; monitoring and evaluation; organizational capacity building of civil society organizations and non-profit media; and program management. As a consultant, Abbott has worked for a variety of organizations including Albany Associates, CIMA, Fondation Hirondelle, International Business & Technical Consultants, Inc., Internews, IREX, Media Legal Defence Initiative, The Nexus Fund, NORC at the University of Chicago, and Thomson Foundation. In addition to her consulting practice, Abbott is a lecturer in the Department of Communication, University of Colorado Denver, and a non-resident fellow at the Center for Media, Data, and Society at Central European University, Budapest.
