Gisela Perez de Acha is a Mexican lawyer and activist who specialises in free speech and gender rights within the digital world. She is the public policy officer for Latin America at Derechos Digitales, a non-governmental organisation where she mostly conducts research on algorithmic accountability and malware in the region. Gisela also runs Horizontal, an independent cultural center in Mexico City, where she books art, live performances, and literature events related to technology. She was project manager of #Verificado19s: a collective that verified information and countered fake news after the deadly earthquake that hit Mexico on the 19th of September, 2017.
