Resilience and resistance in closing space countries -- what can the online and offline communities do together?

Feedback form is now closed.

The advocacy community is increasingly at risk online, offline, and between the two. Whilst threats to the digital and operational security of front line defenders are increasingly understood, threats to their mental health and ability to maintain resilience offline is less so. Advocacy organizations and those who seek to support them need to better understand the range of threats faced, online and off, in order to begin developing more robust, cross-sectoral and multifaceted responses to reclaim civic space and maintain activists resilience while doing so.

This drop-in session will bring together participants from the activist, funder, tech and capacity building communities to discuss: the continuum of online and offline threats frontline defenders are facing in closing space countries, the linkages between and reinforcing nature of these threats, and ways in which online and offline communities can better collaborate to resist closing space and ensure activists resilience.
