(En)countering hate speech: Let's diversify our solutions

Sign up or log in to save this to your schedule and see who's attending!

Space for civil society is shrinking. The internet allows us to create social movements and encourages broad discussion, but it also creates barriers to participation, spreads prejudices, incites hate, and makes it easier to manipulate people. The threat of online abuse and harassment prevents people from discussing important issues and from seeking out different opinions. Let’s use this interactive session to explore “out of the box” and complementary ways of countering hate speech and reopening OUR online civic space.
